Art for me is living in participant observation. I explore connection and disconnection via perceptions to critically examine the cultural myths we accept to be able to function daily. The many stories behind everyday moments, the complexities of social life, compel me to question what we understand as ideal. Pulling from design and social theory illuminates ways socially constructed ideals enable us to connect and disconnect from ourselves, each other, and the world. My hope is to give voice to the many perspectives as legitimate experiences while questioning what is "legitimate" at the same time.
